Brendan Bernakevitch is a corporate/commercial partner in the firm’s Regina office. Brendan maintains a broad corporate practice, and has experience with working with small and large businesses with respect to corporate governance, financing, transactional work, restructuring and general corporate strategy.
Brendan’s main focus is to provide value to a business through its life cycle.
For start-ups and early stage companies, the focus is on solid, efficient and creative solutions to access capital (including portals and crowdfunding) and to set the expectations of investors, founders, officers and directors. Brendan’s focus is to keep costs low in order to support growth. He is free for a call and clients should know that these calls are not “on the clock”.
For expanding businesses, the focus may shift to financing, transaction strategy and risk management. This includes both debt and equity financing strategy, protection of IP and employee liability.
For companies in transition or sale, the focus is on proper structuring to allow generational transition, employee buyouts or third-party sales. This may also include an overall estate plan that takes a comprehensive approach to family enterprises to protect generational wealth.
