McDougall Gauley LLP is proud to have sponsored the Advocate's Society's (TAS) Appellate Advocacy Bench & Bar Reception on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Toronto.
The Bench & Bar Networking event was a casual evening of collegiality hosted at TAS headquarters in Toronto. Those in attendance included advocates from across Canada as well as judges of the Ontario Court of Appeal, Federal Court of Appeal, and Ontario Superior Court. TAS is a not-for-profit association dedicated to providing skill-building resources and networking for lawyers across the country. The Appellate Advocacy practice group aims to specifically provide TAS members with an interest in or specialty in appellate advocacy with education and networking opportunities in that area of practice.
Lauren J. Wihak chairs TAS's Appellate Advocacy practice group and is often invited to be on faculty of TAS's appellate advocacy-focused programs. Lauren is a partner at McDougall Gauley. A significant aspect of her practice focuses on appeals. Lauren frequently appears in the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, and has also appeared before appellate courts in Manitoba and British Columbia, as well as before the Supreme Court of Canada.
McDougall Gauley's Appellate Advocacy practice group has experience with appeals before the Court of King’s Bench, Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, and Supreme Court of Canada.
